After playing for two years together, Oblik has just released their debut album on the Ormo Recordslabel. The title “Order Disorder” captures the music of the album perfectly: an interplay between written and improvised sections, where minimalistic, melodic, dissonant and noisy sequences mingle, creating a rich soundscape in which the musicians express themselves freely.
Oblik succeeds in playing the music of today while remaining firmly anchored in the jazz tradition.

Bio:
At the crossroads between jazz and other forms of improvised music, Oblik mixes tradition and modernity. Using the classic sextet configuration (tenor sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, double bass and drums), the band plays bareboned minimalistic compositions where the melody plays the main role, leaving lots of space and freedom for the musicians.
Coming from different backgrounds (The Wøøøh, Marc Ducret, Esperanto, 1band4acrew, Frasques Orchestra, FranzKTrio, Raha…), the six improvisors merge their personal experiences to create a unique innovative musical élan.
